Why They Kill Their Newborns
By Steven Pinker I n his article Steven Pinker shows how scholars can argue that it’s ingrained in human nature to kill a newborn baby. He cites other professors and the history of human evolution to support this. At no time in the article does Steven Pinker take a stance in what he actual believes but he shows no evidence to contradict these ideas. October 21, 1997 In this article Bruce Chapman does not use much fact to support his argument but gives more of his opinions. I believe he sees Pinkers’ article as a way to promote the killing of newborns or at least justify them. He writes with more emotion questioning each piece of research that pinker put in his article.  My Summary I think that Steven Pinker writes a very good article about how murdering your newborn child could be a normal part of nature. He uses a lot of reference to support that claim. He never comes out and states his opinion but he does not show anything to dispute his facts. Bruce Chapman writes a very emotional article he takes everything in pinker article as if he said it himself. I like Chapman more because it feels more personal and it is more his opinion then someone elses.
